      3. Amend agenda to transfer Shirlee from PT Sylvania to PT Cascade.

AFT convention delegate candidates: Heidi Edwards, Sara Treadway, Teri Mills

Assessment/Evaluation Processes & Accreditation Visit

  1. Shirlee updated the Council on assessment initiatives. In 2008 a faculty council was formed to respond to the accountability movement. We needed a process outside of grading to see how students were doing with meeting the learning outcomes.

Got an award at convention for most members. 214 new members since September.

  1. 723 PT members activated; 666 PT not activated. Goal to be at 80%
  2. FT Faculty and APs: 617 activated; 80 not - need to get that number up to 90%

New Business:

  1. HR Miscalculation of Writing Conference Pay
  1. $704,000 overpayment. 228 employees overpaid over 2.5 years. Most PT writing instructors. Also PT DE and ESOL instructors. College recognizes it was their mistake. They feel they need to demonstrate due diligence because it’s public funds.

Rob is thrilled to be new government relations manager at PCC. This is a new position. Dana Haynes used to do this as part of his job. Rob spent almost 10 years with AFT Oregon
